History
The Altivus group is an organisation that has its hand in a variety of endeavours: Exploration and Xenology, Spacecraft research and development, Commerce and Mining, Architecture, Terra-forming and Habitat Technology, Database brokerage and numerous other ventures
The conglomerate had its origins in exploration with its founder and Prime Director, Shaderkul Veer, having an unquenchable thirst for exploration and discovery set off on a lone expedition into uncharted space via an alleged secret jump point and was never heard of for over two decades. Altivus suddenly reappeared with untold wealth (and some say uncommon knowledge) and thus the now Multi-system corporation began its growth, spreading its wings into various sectors.
In a very rare interview with its founder, Altivus was asked what was the secret of his success and enormous wealth to which he replied :
“ I’m just a traveller looking for a little piece of heaven.”
Manifesto
Altivus Group was founded on the desire and unquenchable passion of one man, and to this day his ideals are still a guiding force in our operations and activities:
- The unending seach for hidden Knowledge and Unknown Truths in the cosmos.
- The desire to understand, catalogue and interact with Sapient Entities and thier culture, ethos and Psychology to advance the human condition in the simplest of ways or in the most profound of paradigms.
- The aquiring of wealth, both economic and otherwise through the knowledge gained by seeking the unknown.
As such our Primary focus is Exploration and Xenology that stretches across the verse from the familiar space of the UEE to the gaurded domain of Xian space to the downright hostile Vandul territory to the trepidatious Frontier Systems to the unknown expanse of the fringe.
We are there seeking our little piece of heaven.
Along with our focus on Exploration comes a myriad of secondary pursuits that our agents operates in, under several Divisions:
- Horizon Altivus: Exploration and Xenology
- Altivus Skunkworks: Spacecraft Research and Development
- Altivus Security: Corporate Security and Armed Escort
- Altivus Logistics and Trade: Commerce and Mining Operations
- Altivus Habitats: Architecture, Terraforming and Habitat Technology
- Altivus Racing: Pro Racing
- Indigo Talons: SataBall Team
- Unknown Division: Activities Redacted
Whenever you see the ascending Eagle across the hull of any one of our ships, be it flashing through the Murray Cup rings in the Ellis System, or at the commercial docks at a port in Terra, or in a long forgotten part of the verse where there should be no sign of life, or deep within Vanduul Space taking the fight to the enemy, or along a trade route moving exotic spice to Goss, you can be rest assured that the tenents of our Organisation follows it: a symbol of knowledge, a symbol of Quality, a symbol of strength.
So, wherever your interest lie, you can be rest assured that at Altivus Group, you can find your place……your own little piece of heaven.
