The year was 2949, and across the Stanton system, organizations once built on promises of unity and purpose had begun to rot from within. Greed, corruption, and unchecked ambition had poisoned their foundations. What had started as grand alliances, forged in the spirit of exploration, trade, and security, had become nothing more than bureaucratic machines—soulless entities where power was hoarded by the few while the many were reduced to expendable assets.
Loyalty had become a currency, bought and sold at the whims of leadership. Rank and prestige were granted not by merit, but by favoritism and politics. Those who worked tirelessly to support these organizations—the traders who kept the supply chains moving, the security teams who risked their lives against raiders, the engineers who toiled away in hangars—found themselves treated as disposable. Their voices were ignored. Their efforts went unrecognized. They were mere cogs in a greater machine, valued only for what they could produce, not for who they were.
Among the disillusioned stood a small but determined group—pilots, mercenaries, industrialists, and civilians alike—who had seen the truth of these so-called “great” organizations. They had once believed in them, fought for them, bled for them. But in the end, they were met with the same cold indifference as so many before them. They realized something fundamental: these organizations did not care about their people.
And so, they did the unthinkable.
They walked away.
What began as a quiet exodus soon turned into something greater. Across the system, whispers spread of a group no longer willing to serve leaders who saw them as pawns. They gathered in secret, meeting in outposts, abandoned stations, and deep-space comm channels, seeking to forge a new path. They called themselves Cerberus.
At first, they were nothing more than a loose collective—united by frustration, but uncertain of their future. But as more and more individuals joined their ranks, a singular vision emerged:
That every individual, no matter their skill or background, deserved respect, purpose, and a voice.
Cerberus would not be ruled by unchecked power. They established a government built on democracy, where leadership was earned, not given, and where every member had a say in their collective destiny. They created systems of training and mentorship, ensuring that every person, regardless of experience, could find their place and thrive. They adopted a ranking structure not based on blind authority, but on trust and responsibility.
It did not take long for the old organizations to take notice. Defections turned into desertions. Former allies became wary, fearing what this growing movement represented. Cerberus had become a symbol of defiance against the status quo, a living testament to what happened when people refused to be used.
But opposition was not their only challenge. The fledgling organization had no vast resources, no fleets of warships or corporate funding to sustain them. They would have to build everything from the ground up—a daunting task, but one they accepted without hesitation. Through sheer determination, they secured ships, supplies, and allies, each step forward reinforcing their belief that they were stronger together than they had ever been alone.
As the months passed, their numbers swelled, and their influence grew. No longer just a gathering of outcasts, Cerberus had become a movement—a force to be reckoned with. They were pioneers forging a new path, defenders of their own ideals, and warriors against the corruption that had driven them to this point.
And so, from the ashes of betrayal, Cerberus took its first step into the unknown.
The journey ahead would not be easy. There would be battles to fight, enemies to face, and challenges to overcome. But for the first time in their lives, these men and women were not fighting for the ambitions of another.
They were fighting for themselves.
For respect.
For purpose.
For a voice.
The year was 2954, and the verse was far from peaceful. The United Frontier had stepped into its next chapter—not as wanderers or revolutionaries, but as protectors. They had cast off the shackles of the past and embraced a new mission: to stand as a shield for those who could not defend themselves, to bring order where chaos reigned, and to push back against those who sought to exploit the weak.
But peace does not come without sacrifice. And the United Frontier quickly learned that the universe does not reward those who seek to preserve it.
The War Against Xenothreat
The first test of their resolve came in the form of Xenothreat. From the fringes of the Pyro system, the violent terrorist faction descended upon Stanton with one goal—to spread destruction and fear. They struck without warning, targeting vital supply lines, attacking civilian convoys, and seeking to destabilize the region. Where the UEE hesitated, the United Frontier acted.
They mobilized swiftly, organizing convoys to resupply the besieged stations, rallying fighter squadrons to intercept Xenothreat’s relentless assaults. Where there was chaos, they brought order. Where there was destruction, they rebuilt. The battles were fierce, the enemy unyielding, but the United Frontier would not falter. They fought not for profit or power, but for the people who called Stanton home.
Against all odds, Xenothreat was pushed back—not by governments or corporations, but by the will of those who refused to let terror take root in their home. The United Frontier had drawn a line in the stars, and they would hold it at all costs.
The Pyro Gate Offensive
Peace, however, was fleeting. No sooner had Xenothreat been beaten back than another enemy emerged—one closer to home.
The Slicers, a ruthless gang of pirates and mercenaries, launched an invasion from Pyro, seeking to carve a bloody path into Stanton. They came not for conquest, but for plunder and destruction, leaving burned wreckage in their wake. The jump gate between Pyro and Stanton became a battlefield as the Slicers poured through, striking at transport ships, refueling stations, and trade hubs.
But the United Frontier had already proven they would not stand by while others suffered.
With their forces spread thin, they rallied what ships they could, coordinating a counteroffensive that would define them. As the Slicers surged forward, they met an unbreakable wall of resistance. Fighters weaved through the chaos, bombers struck key positions, and ground teams boarded compromised stations to push back the invasion.
The battle was long and brutal, but when the dust settled, the Slicers had been driven back into the void. Once more, the United Frontier had held the line—not as conquerors, but as defenders of the innocent.
The Siege of Orison
Just as the verse began to quiet, another storm arrived.
The Nine Tails gang, emboldened by the failures of their predecessors, launched a campaign against the floating platforms of Orison. The city in the clouds, once a beacon of peace and industry, found itself under siege as Nine Tails forces seized control of key locations, taking hostages and cutting off all escape routes. The people of Orison were trapped, and no help was coming.
Except from the United Frontier.
Despite exhaustion, despite the scars of previous battles, they would not stand idly by. Their forces mobilized yet again, launching a coordinated strike on the occupied platforms. They fought through the towering structures, engaging in brutal skirmishes in the skies above Crusader. Every hallway cleared, every landing pad reclaimed, was a step closer to saving those who could not save themselves.
When the last Nine Tails enforcer fell, and the people of Orison took their first breath of freedom, the United Frontier did not wait for gratitude. They had not come for recognition—they had come because it was the right thing to do.
Warriors, But Never Just Warriors
The battles were relentless, but through it all, the United Frontier did not lose sight of its heart.
For every battle fought, there were moments of kindness, of unity, of hope. Every year, when Luminalia arrived, they did not take to the battlefield. They set down their weapons, left their warships in the hangars, and turned their efforts toward something greater. They delivered gifts to those who had nothing. They brought supplies to the forgotten corners of the system. They spread joy where sorrow had taken root.
It was a reminder—to themselves, to the people of Stanton, to the verse at large—that they were not just warriors. They were something more.
They were symbols of resilience.
They were a promise that even in the darkest of times, there would always be those willing to fight for what was right.
