1990, I was 13 years old. I had a Tandy 1000TL with a lightning fast 8mhz 80286 processor! Enter Wing Commander, I remember loading up the game for the first time… The conductor in front of the orchestra, with the planet on the horizon, “Tap, tap, tap, tap” the conductor gets the attention of the orchestra, the audience… and me! Zoom, we fly off, over the orchestra and off into space, the Origin FX logo and some fireworks to boot. Then the Hornet fighter blasts through a Kilrathi fighter and flies through the debris, just like something out of Star Wars! I was hooked. No other game had sucked me into its universe like Wing Commander.
