Who do we think we are?
We’re Angels & Airwaves.
History
Founded by a group of starbound visionaries, Angels and Airwaves began as a small alliance of explorers, combat medics, and pilots united by a shared belief: to bring hope, unity, and safety to the far reaches of space. They recognized that the vastness of the universe was often a hostile place for the lone wanderer, where danger lurked at every turn and hope was hard to come by. In response, they formed Angels and Airwaves, a sanctuary for those who would give more to the universe than they took, a force for good in the stars.
As their numbers grew, they structured themselves into two branches, each specializing in essential roles. The Angels focused on search and rescue, combat medical support, and ensuring the safety of allies and civilians. The Airwaves, meanwhile, specialized in ship combat, tactical maneuvering, and upholding security among the stars.
To this day, Angels and Airwaves stands as a beacon of hope and a force to be reckoned with, bound by the motto, “Spread hope like fire.” With every mission, they continue to inspire and protect, united by a code of loyalty, integrity, and the thrill of discovery.
Manifesto
- Service Above Self – We are committed to answering every call for aid, no matter the danger, and to preserving life whenever possible. For us, service is not a duty but a calling.
- Strength in Unity – By fostering growth among our members and uplifting one another, we create a powerful, adaptable organization where every member’s skill contributes to a greater whole.
- Mastery Through Challenge – Each rank and role is earned through trials that sharpen our members’ skills. Whether an Angel or an Airwave, we strive for mastery in our crafts, becoming the best versions of ourselves.
- Wonder and Discovery – The universe is vast, and every mission brings new horizons. We explore with curiosity, humility, and a respect for the unknown, cherishing the thrill of the journey as much as the destination.
Charter
We, the members of Angels and Airwaves, unite under a shared vision to be both protectors and explorers in the universe. We are driven by the pursuit of excellence, the bond of unity, and a dedication to spreading hope across the stars.
Article I: Purpose
Angels and Airwaves exists to:
Provide Rescue and Medical Assistance – Through our Angels branch, we prioritize the rescue and healing of those in need, extending a hand in hostile conditions.
Ensure Security and Tactical Support – Through our Airwaves branch, we protect our members and allies by securing routes, engaging hostile forces, and upholding peace.
Cultivate Mastery and Growth – We believe in challenging ourselves to earn ranks through rigorous training, pushing each member to their fullest potential.
Article II: Branches and Ranks
Recruit
Role – The initial entry role for new members. Recruits undergo foundational training to become familiar with both Angels and Airwaves branches. This period allows them to explore the organization’s roles and values before choosing their path.
The Angels
Role – Angels specialize in search and rescue, medical assistance, and providing life-saving support in combat scenarios.
Rank Path:
Medic – Entry-level, with training in first aid, beacon response, and basic combat support.
Angel – Earned by Cadets who complete advanced search and rescue operations, demonstrate medical prowess, and pass a final evaluation by responding to a live service beacon.
The Airwaves
Role – Airwaves focus on ship-to-ship combat and tactical maneuvering to secure missions and protect members.
Rank Path:
Pilot – Initial rank for new pilots who complete training in flight and tactical maneuvering.
Airwave – Awarded to Waves who demonstrate superior piloting skills by defeating a current Airwave in a ship to ship combat evaluation.
Dual Rank
Angel and Airwave – Members who have achieved the rank of Angel or Airwave may apply to complete the requirements of the other branch. Those who succeed earn the dual rank of Angel and Airwave, symbolizing their mastery in both combat rescue and tactical flight operations.
Article III: Core Values
Hope Through Action – We believe that action—especially in the face of adversity—spreads hope and strength throughout our ranks and to those we encounter.
Unity in Diversity – We value every member’s skills and contributions, celebrating the diversity of our talents as we work toward a common mission.
Integrity and Respect – Every mission, contract, and engagement is undertaken with respect for life, integrity in our dealings, and accountability to the highest ethical standards.
Article IV: Code of Conduct
Aid Comes First – Angels respond to distress calls with speed and dedication, prioritizing life-saving assistance over personal risk.
Excellence in Combat and Care – Whether in rescue or ship combat, all members are committed to performing their duties with precision, skill, and professionalism.
Continuous Improvement – Training and mastery are core to our mission. Members are encouraged to continually develop, apply for tests, and strive for the next rank to elevate their skills.
Respect for Allies and Adversaries – In all encounters, we operate with honor, engaging fairly and treating allies and adversaries with respect.
Article V: Membership and Leadership
Membership – Open to those who demonstrate alignment with our values and a commitment to their chosen path, whether as an Angel or Airwave.
Leadership – Led by a council representing both branches, the organization’s leadership fosters a culture of mutual respect, guides missions, and upholds the charter. Leaders are selected based on skill, dedication, and their contributions to the growth and safety of the organization.
Article VI: Amendments
This charter may be amended by consensus within the Leadership Council and a majority vote of active members. Amendments should serve to enhance unity, integrity, and our commitment to the core values of Angels and Airwaves.
