History
Founding and Early Ventures (2785–2800)
Astrum Expanse emerged in 2785, founded by former UEE Navy officers and explorers seeking to push the boundaries of space travel beyond the known systems. Headquartered in Terra, the organization quickly gained recognition for its independent, exploration-focused operations, aiming to chart uncharted star systems and salvage lost technologies.
Expansion and Exploration (2801–2850)
By the early 29th century, Astrum Expanse had established itself as a prominent player in deep-space expeditions. The organization specialized in high-risk, high-reward ventures, often operating beyond UEE-regulated space. Its pioneering efforts in the Virgil System after the Vanduul raids showcased its resilience and commitment to uncovering the unknown.
Technological Prowess and Alliances (2851–2900)
Throughout the mid-29th century, Astrum Expanse’s innovations in jump-point mapping and AI-assisted navigation systems earned them contracts with major corporations like Hurston Dynamics and Crusader Industries. Despite their growing influence, the group maintained a reputation for independence, attracting skilled freelancers and adventurers from across the ‘verse.
Present Day Influence
In the 30th century, Astrum Expanse operates as a semi-corporate collective, renowned for its neutrality and expertise in frontier exploration. Pilots and mercenaries alike join their ranks, seeking fame and fortune as the organization continues to push the boundaries of known space, facing dangers from both the Vanduul and rival corporations.
