The Canadian Pathfinders are an elite private military corporation from the Canadian region of Earth. They are renowned infiltrators and soldiers of fortune. Made up of former UEE marines and naval pilots, beware of CANPF as, “The worst is yet to come”.
The private military corporation known as the Canadian Pathfinders was created in 2520 by Victor Kudos, a retired UNE General. However, the history of the Canadian Pathfinders actually dates back 1000 years to early earth in the 20th century, during what was known as the Second World War (WWII). Two allied nations, Canada and the United States of America, created the 1st Special Services Force, also known as the Devils Brigade. The unit had special training, tactics and weapons which made them feared by their enemies. Their trademark stickers were placed on fortifications and corpses of their enemies, written in German: “Das dicke Ende kommt noch” translated to “The worst is yet to come”.
The 1st Special Services Force was the beginning of all special forces units for both nations.
In the nation of Canada, their special forces evolved over the years from the Canadian Airborne Regiment, to Joint Task Force 2, to the Canadian Special Operations Space Command (CANSPOSC) in 2224. CANSPOSC was created specifically to protect Canada’s interests in space. In 2380, during the creation of the United Nations of Earth (UNE), CANSPOSC was transformed into the Canadian Pathfinders, an elite force capable of securing areas of space and astronomical bodies, expert insertion/exertion, intelligence gathering, and high risk reconnaissance unit for the UNE.
CANPF’s first major operation occurred in 2389 when the unit infiltrated a terrorist organization known as the Gemini Syndicate. The syndicate was planning to hijack and commander a major asteroid mining operation. The plot was foiled by the Pathfinders and the syndicate never recovered. In addition to anti-terrorist operations CANPF also provided security for high value/high risk transports and targets.
Between 2380 and 2516 CANPF was utilized in many UNE operations and it’s members were some of the UNE’s most highly decorated soldiers and pilots. However, the creation of the United Planets of Earth (UPE) saw the disbandment of the Canadian Pathfinders as nation states such as Canada were no longer recognized in the military.
In 2520 the private military corporation known as the Canadian Pathfinders was created by Victor Kudos, who was also the last commander of the UNE’s Canadian Pathfinders. He used much of his pension and credits saved over the years to purchase CANPF’s first ship, the HMCS Calgary. The Calgary was used to provide security and protection for corporations and contracted by the UPE military for sensitive infiltration missions.
During the Messer years CANPF was mainly utilized by the UPE military to provide security for military transports and Tevarin infiltration operations. CANPF helped to support many UPE military missions and distinguished itself in the Second Tevarin War.
Today CANPF is still operated by the Kudos family. They continue to provide security services to private corporations and the UEE. The Advocate also utilizes CANPF to infiltrate and provide intelligence on pirate syndicates. CANPF is a proud organization of highly skilled pilots and soldiers ready to take on any challenge, because when you tangle with the Canadian Pathfinders, “The worst is yet to come.”
The Canadian Pathfinders are motivated by honour, duty, and valour. They operate within the law and are contracted by the UEEN, Advocacy, and private corporations to execute high risk security and infiltration operations.
