History Manifesto Charter

History

Daedalus Shipping Corp was originally founded to give transport and work opportunities to the millions of hard working and yet dispensable Broombardiers of the galaxy. After promises of actually owning their own brooms and cleaning utensils, the never ceasing waves of the relentless floor sweepers and window cleaners spread throughout the stars, despite thousands of casualties experienced in everyday service the Broombardiers kept our ships clean! Still to this day Daedalus Shipping Corp remains strong, with a service record of over 700 Broombardiers having served and died in in the fleet. After succeeding in reducing the Broombardiers population, Daedalus Shipping Corp agreed that they must become less specialised, as Broombardiers aren’t a renewable source of cheap labour and opened up to the career choice of goods transport and freelancing.

To this day Daedalus Shipping Corp remains proudly one of the best swept and cleaned fleets of the UEE, with the highest Broombardiers death count in the galaxy.

Manifesto

Daedalus Shipping Corp aims to maintain a very high standard of hygiene, while also being a dependable and reliable freelancing and transporting corporation. We aim to keep our opportunities open for discussion regarding terms of employment, and shall remain a multi-functional corporation while staying with UEE regulations and laws. DSC believes strongly in opportunity, and encourages its crew and greatly encourages its Broombardiers of the importance opportunity can present.

Currently Daedalus Shipping Corp is formed from two sections, once recruited crewmen have a choice of being assigned to either the Heavy Wing or the Escort Section. The Heavy Wing forms the core of DSC, serving as the main method of transportation. Working alongside the Heavy Wing, the Escort Section serves to protect the Heavy Wing from any threats encountered. While the Heavy Wing depends on the Escort Section for protection the Heavy Wing is still expected to support the Escort Section in situations with increased threat. While the aim of DSC is of transportation, we still believe that the lives of our crewmen come first.

While Daedalus Shipping Corp primary reason for employment is transport, it is still required for the main body of crewmen to have basic combat experience or training for freelancing opportunities. Crewmen who also have specialist understanding of other roles such as medical training and engineering will be given special priorities within combat situations. Crewmen with specific weapon talents will also be assigned roles for use in firefights.

Broombardier Rules:

1. Die for the Captain or die trying
2. Your broom is your life
3. Follow all orders from crewmen without question or doubt
4. Maintain ship hygiene to the highest Broombardier level
5. Be prepared for any and all challenges, (including lack of oxygen, fire, boarding parties, space parasites, malnutrition, beatings, highly acidic cleaning chemicals, sudden airlock depressurisation, friendly fire, intentional friendly fire, loss of limbs, unexpected evisceration, extreme blood loss, slippery surfaces, hand-to-broom combat, lack of safety equipment, other Broombardiers, electrocution, Broom Worm, gladiatorial battles for crew amusement and the Captain themselves).
