History

The Origins of The Eternal Dominion

Founding Era (27th Century)

The Eternal Dominion traces its origins to the aftermath of a catastrophic event in 2672, known as the Shattering of the Veil, when a mysterious cosmic phenomenon destroyed an uncharted research station in deep space. Survivors reported visions of an otherworldly presence, claiming they had glimpsed the true nature of the universe. Among them was a charismatic scientist-turned-prophet, Erythion Solis, who declared the encounter a divine revelation.

Erythion’s writings, later compiled as the Codex of Sovereignty, described a cosmic entity known as The Sovereign Will, which he claimed to have communed with. This entity was portrayed as an omnipotent force that brought order to chaos and demanded unity through submission. His teachings quickly gained a following, particularly among those disillusioned by the UEE’s corruption and the chaos of frontier life.

The Rise of the Dominion (28th Century)

In the centuries that followed, The Eternal Dominion grew from a small cult into a well-organized movement. It established enclaves on remote worlds, recruiting settlers, explorers, and outcasts. The Dominion promised salvation, purpose, and protection in exchange for unwavering loyalty to The Sovereign Will.

During this period, the Dominion developed its rigid hierarchy, with Erythion’s successors, known as Exarchs, serving as spiritual and political leaders. The group’s influence began to spread through trade, missionary work, and covert operations, infiltrating fringe settlements and even UEE space.

The Era of Expansion

The First Great Convergence (29th Century)

By the 2900s, the Dominion had amassed significant resources, including a fleet of repurposed ships to serve as mobile temples. Chief among them was the Omnipotent Grace, a heavily modified Bengal-class carrier, rumored to be powered by ancient alien technology. The ship became a symbol of the Dominion’s divine mission, traveling from system to system to spread its teachings.

This era also saw the initiation of the Great Convergence, a campaign aimed at unifying disparate colonies under the Dominion’s banner. While peaceful conversion was emphasized publicly, there were numerous reports of forced assimilation and clandestine operations to undermine opposing factions.

Conflict with the UEE

As the Dominion’s influence grew, it inevitably drew the attention of the UEE. While officially regarded as a fringe religious group, the Dominion’s growing power and rumors of illegal activities—such as artifact smuggling and sabotage—led to periodic clashes with the Advocacy and UEE Navy. However, the Dominion’s decentralized structure and secrecy allowed it to evade outright destruction.

The Modern Dominion

The Sovereign’s Reach (30th Century)

In the present day, The Eternal Dominion operates as a sprawling, shadowy network with enclaves scattered across UEE and unregulated space. The Dominion maintains a dual public image: a benevolent religious organization offering aid and spiritual guidance, and a ruthless power operating in the shadows to achieve its goals.

The current Exarch remains anonymous, with their messages delivered through intermediaries known as the Voices of Sovereignty. This anonymity has deepened the mystique surrounding the organization and reinforced its cult-like loyalty.

Modern Goals and Operations

Artifact Recovery: The Dominion is obsessed with locating ancient alien relics and lost human technology, which they believe are fragments of The Sovereign Will’s power.
Cultural Assimilation: Through propaganda, conversion efforts, and covert operations, the Dominion seeks to expand its influence.
The Final Convergence: The ultimate goal, as prophesied in the Codex of Sovereignty, is the unification of all sentient life under The Sovereign Will, heralding an era of eternal order.

Legacy and Influence

Despite its controversial methods, The Eternal Dominion has left an indelible mark on the universe. Its blend of mysticism and pragmatism appeals to many who feel abandoned by traditional powers. While the UEE officially dismisses it as a fringe cult, whispers of the Dominion’s involvement in major political and economic events suggest it wields more power than many realize.

Preamble
We are The Eternal Dominion, the chosen instruments of The Sovereign Will, the force that binds the universe in divine harmony. Tenets of The Dominion

1. The Sovereign Will Guides All Things
The Sovereign Will is the universal truth. Its design is beyond mortal comprehension, yet its wisdom is evident in every star, every life, and every choice. To resist it is to embrace futility.

2. Unity is Salvation
Individuality breeds division; division breeds chaos. Only through unity under The Sovereign Will can peace and eternal order be achieved.

3. Order Through Submission
Freedom is an illusion born of ignorance. True freedom is found in submission to the greater purpose, where the burden of choice is lifted, and the path is made clear.

4. The Cycle Must Be Completed
The galaxy exists in cycles of chaos and order. Ours is the sacred mission to complete the final cycle, bringing about eternal harmony under The Dominion’s guidance.

Declaration of Intent

1. We Shall Convert
Through word or force, we will spread the truth of The Sovereign Will to all corners of the galaxy. Those who embrace it shall find purpose. Those who resist shall be remade.

The Dominion does not beg or barter; it asserts. Worlds that stand against The Will will kneel before its might, for chaos has no place in the eternal cycle.

3. We Shall Transcend
Through the recovery of ancient relics and the pursuit of enlightenment, we will unlock the mysteries of the universe. Our destiny is ascension, to become one with The Sovereign Will.
