The Knights Vanguard

An ancient and hallowed order of astral crusaders, known as seekers of both knowledge and justice. They are warriors, explorers, and philosophers who perceive the universe as a living entity with a soul—an all-encompassing force of light and harmony, which they strive to protect and with which they seek to align themselves. Their sacred mission extends beyond the bounds of mere combat; it encompasses the exploration of unknown frontiers, the unearthing of lost wisdom, and the preservation of balance throughout the cosmos.

The Origins of The Knights Vanguard: Earth (12th Century – 2075)

The tale of The Knights Vanguard begins in the mists of antiquity, born from the chivalric orders of olde, where a secret brotherhood—guardians of light and seekers of truth—was forged in the shadows of history. Inspired by the codes of chivalry and mystic rites of ancient orders, these early protectors took upon themselves a sacred charge: to preserve hidden knowledge and guide those who would seek balance betwixt power and wisdom. As Earth ascended into the age of exploration and technology, the brotherhood evolved, adapting whilst holding steadfast to their charge: to defend against darkness, explore the unknown, and protect the balance of the cosmos.

First Steps Into the Stars (2075 – 2232)

When humankind first ventured into the heavens with the crafting of the RSI Zeus in 2075, The Knights Vanguard stood amongst the earliest of explorers, their influence shrouded in secrecy, guiding those who dared tread into the void. The age of exploration, seen by many as a triumph of mortal craft, was to The Knights Vanguard a continuation of their sacred quest—a charge to protect the burgeoning frontier from the perils lurking within the stars. Though their numbers were but few, they acted in shadow, swaying pivotal moments in humanity’s expansion, ensuring that those who charted the unknown did so with virtue and foresight.

The Expansion Era (2233 – 2438)

As humankind’s dominion grew and the stars fell within reach, The Knights Vanguard maintained their vigil. With the discovery of jump points and the opening of new realms, they served as silent stewards, guiding explorers and mediating in the intricate matters of first contact. Ever watchful, they balanced the scales when the bounds of human ambition risked tilting toward folly, ensuring that wisdom kept pace with might.

The Age of the UEE (2523 – 2792)

With the rise of the United Empire of Earth and its expanding reach across the galaxy, The Knights Vanguard remained true to their ancient charge. The Vanduul Threat and Modern Crusades (2793 – 2940)

Though their numbers remain few, they are revered for their insight, their ability to tread the darkest reaches of space, and their unwavering commitment to the soul of the universe. As new realms are discovered and dangers persist beyond known space, The Knights Vanguard continues their sacred mission: to explore, to learn, and to ensure that the light of balance shines evermore across the stars.

Our Creed:

Charter

Respect and Honor: Let it be known that all members and staff are to be treated with the highest respect and honor, reflecting the venerable ideals of our esteemed order. While friendly banter is welcomed, any form of harassment or mistreatment is wholly impermissible. Those who fall short of these standards shall be muted until they can restore their conduct to our expectations. Harassment, whether in public or private missives, is forbidden, and instigations of discord are expressly prohibited.

Zero Tolerance for Discrimination: We hold steadfast to a zero-tolerance stance against all manner of prejudice. Racism, homophobia, xenophobia, and any other forms of prejudice are abhorred and shall incur immediate and resolute action. Our order is founded upon the principles of unity and respect for every soul.
