History

“On second thought let’s not go to GCM, it is a silly place…It’s only going to get worse”

Tentative Schedule: Sunday nights 1800-2200 (GMT-5)

Welcome our brief history! We have a small core of gamers that have been friends for 3+ years and Star Citizen is our next foray into the MMO space. We began in SWTOR coming from all sorts of different backgrounds and age groups (all 18+). We have raided in SWTOR and Rift enjoying our time from there but missing the community, friendship, and weekly craziness we got into.

We invite anyone looking to join up and see if we’re a good fit. Especially if you have a small clique of your friends you wish to join up into an established setting (even if you want to just chill with each other most of the time). We want to build up a community of warm welcomes and understandings. We understand people have lives to live and don’t have 40+ hours a week to dedicate to a game but still want to participate in a community.

We lead by a council and delegate tasks to multiple people so power never resides in one person. A few of us are into RP and welcome any that are interested in participating in that side of the game. We love to just hang out and make each other laugh with lewd jokes, imgur posts, and the like.

Who are the GorillaCats?

The GorillaCats are a group of friends moving into Star Citizen (and Wildstar) looking to expierience all of what they have to offer. We’ve been looking forward to these games for awhile now and are ready to jump in. We understand that the game is just a game and we want to have like minded people to build the guild and have fun while doing so.

Why GorillaCats?

The name comes from the raiding group we have back in SW:ToR. The main reason is because, while we were determined to clear content, we had fun while doing it. Yes, Star Citizen is going to have hard content that challenges the player to the utmost extent. We just want to have fun while doing it.

What Server?

If you’re interested in our WS side while we wait for SC, we’ll be joining the the RP/PvE server. (Evindra)

Raids:

Raiding days?

Right now we have Sunday 5pm PST/8pm EST as our raiding time (Once we have people attuned and set for raids we’ll solidify this). Until then, we expect people who are planning on raiding to to log on at this time to help the guild with getting players ready for Elder Game! This applies for Star Citizen content as well.

Why only one day?

We chose one day to make sure we have people who can definitely make this time and begin building our raid force. We’ll add more when we have a group that consistently gets on.

Some Rules to Live By:

General Rules

[1] Conduct yourself in a manner above reproach.

[2] Represent GorillaCats as a friendly and positive environment.

[3] Treat your fellow guild members with respect. If an issue rises, please try to work it out respectfully or contact an officer for help. Pick your battles but also feel free to be transparent in your feelings with the the guild leadership.

[4] Please be sensitive in guild chat, Mumble, and Skype. We don’t really have rules about what you can or can’t talk about, but if someone expresses discomfort with a topic, please drop it. If you feel tensions rising, step away from the conversation.

[5] If you become frustrated with other players over game-play, remember this is just a game. Bad attitudes and verbal abuse are not acceptable.

[6] If a serious issue arises, please screenshot chat logs. He-said-she said dialogue will not be accepted as viable argument. Without proof we cannot make drastic assumptions or be expected to side with either party.

[7] Act like an adult and try to talk out your differences or any misunderstandings in a private chat. Even if the issue is not huge, please try to work it out in an adult manner. Approach one-another with resolutions. If you need help, contact an officer.

[8] Do not drag friends into guildie-on-guildie conflicts. If you need to vent to someone, we are here! Don’t make YOUR issue into a GUILD issue. Remember, adult behavior is expected of you.

[9] This guild is 18+. Only rare exceptions will be made after an interview or some such.

Role Play Specific Rules:

[1] Be open and transparent on an OOC level. We’re all here to be friends!

[2] Respect lore and how you use it. Breaking of Lore rules as set by Chad “Pappy” Moore at Carbine, or twisting it so it isn’t what it originally was will not be tolerated. Always ask for feedback to see if something is plausible. We have many lore fanatics around to help you work through your profiles.

[3] If you choose to ERP, please keep it out of public chat channels. Use party chat or enter a private instance. If it comes to the leaderships attention you are ERPing in the open world, proper repercussions will be placed upon the offender. We get it, it adds something to RP, but we don’t need to see it.
