History

Introduction

Greetings from MilitaryGamers.com!

This is the official organization recruitment listing for MilitaryGamers.com, the world’s premier multi-platform, multi-game online community by and for US military service members.

We’re always looking for men and women, who have either served in the past or are presently serving in any branch of the United States Armed Forces, to join our ranks.

If you would like to learn more about our community, or if you would like to register an account and become a member, please head over to our website at www.militarygamers.com.

About MilitaryGamers.com

Our members hail from every branch of the US military, nearly every occupational specialty, all rates and ranks, from E-1 through O-6, and from duty stations and their homes the world over. We have or have had branches (clans, guilds, corporations, outfits, etc.) in nearly ever major game title over the past 7 years, where we have established a solid, respected name for ourselves. With hundreds of members in countless games, including Star Citizen, we think you’ll find that we’re the last gaming community you’ll ever need to join!

Things You Will Find in the MilitaryGamers Community

Comradery, Esprit de Corps, professionalism, a relaxed, casual atmosphere, and most importantly, folks who “get it”. As our motto, “Tantum Nos Teneo”, states, “Only We Know”.

Things You Won’t Find in the MilitaryGamers Community

Within the MilitaryGamers.com community, you will not find any “realism” units or the like. If that’s what you’re looking for, please look elsewhere. We do not simulate a military environment or organization. We don’t have to. We’ve all “been there, done that”. You won’t find any phony rank structures being worn by people who haven’t earned the right to be addressed as such. We do organize our community staff, and occasionally some game branches using generic military titles, such as “CO”, “XO”, “Officer”, “NCO”, etc. because it is familiar to us and identifies who’s running what within the community. These titles, however, do not magically bestow anyone with the right to expect anyone else to treat them as anything but an equal. We have members from all walks of life, all branches of the service, and of all rates, ranks, statuses, and vocations and when they cross our doorstep, everyone is treated with equal courtesy and respect. Within MilitaryGamers.com you will not find any puffed-up “internet commandos” or teenage “squeekers” giving you orders and telling you to address him as “Sir”. Everyone is 18 or older.

About Our Star Citizen Branch

Our community is definitely excited about Star Citizen! We’ve been following and backing this game since it was first announced, and we have a dedicated following within our own community and hope to continue to grow our Star Citizen branch as the game progresses. We have members who plan to play just about every role imaginable, however, as a community and an organization, we’re more-or-less inclined towards filling contracts that benefit others such as providing security, freelance mercenary work, and other tasks in the vein of private military contracting, drawing many parallels with our own personal military experience. By no means does this dictate how our individual members can play the game, but rather how we as an organization will fit into the larger picture as a whole.

We plan to have several subgroups within our overall Star Citizen branch. Some will be a little more competitive, or “hardcore”, while others will cater to a more casual playstyles. We’re certainly no strangers to having to manage and prioritize “real life” and our gaming time. Ultimately, all of our members are there to support each other.

Due to our membership requirements, our numbers in specific games are generally fewer than “civvie” communities with less stringent entry requirements. We’re involved in a lot of games, and even with thousands of members, we’re often spread thin. We’re always open to working with other organizations to fill specialized roles, so long as the interests of any potential partners align with our own community ethics.

Manifesto

Our Mission

MilitaryGamers.com exists to bring US military gamers together and to give back to those who were willing to give all.

MilitaryGamers.com is dedicated to promoting a healthy gaming lifestyle by providing US service members who share a common interest in gaming a community in which they’re comfortable to be who they are, share their stories, and socialize with those who truly understand where they’ve been and what they’ve been through, because they’ve been there too. We provide our members with guidance and support for member-run gaming efforts throughout dozens of games, from the most popular titles to the obscure. We also provide veterans benefits assistance and PTSD outreach programming as well.

Some brief highlights of our community:

  • 2100+ members, with 95% or more that are current and former US military, with the remaining 5% or less consisting of dependents of our members and foreign military allies of the US that are over 18 years of age who form our Auxiliary, making us the only true US military gaming community of such size and membership composition.
  • Members that hail from all branches of the US armed forces, of all service statuses, rates, ranks, specialty fields, gender, and walks of life.
  • 100% service-verified US military staff dedicated to supporting our members around-the-clock.
  • Community-run Game Branches covering a wide variety of games across all major gaming platforms.
  • Active social media presence including Facebook, Twitter, Twitch.tv, and YouTube.
  • Gaming industry outreach with the purpose of increasing awareness for our segment of the gaming population, and well as providing direct feedback and advice to developers who can trust that they’re speaking with bona fide US military veterans.

  • 512-slot TeamSpeak 3 server open to our community 24/7.
