Neomatrix traces its origins to the turbulent 2930s, a period marked by growing economic disparity and instability. During this time, the UEE’s ineffective responses to numerous crises exposed its failings. Many saw the UEE prioritizing elite interests while tightening its authoritarian grip and pushing propaganda. The pivotal moment came with the Walzer Massacre of 2935 around Nexus II, which served as an early starting point for the organization. Some speculate that the massacre was orchestrated by the founders of Neomatrix, who allegedly paid criminals in the Nexus system to carry out a suicide mission to spark revolt and instill insecurity in other systems, although no real proof has ever been found.

In this climate of fear, peaceful protests demanding reform were met with violent reprisals, revealing the regime’s intolerance for dissent. Coupled with economic policies favoring the elite and heavy taxes on necessities, citizens felt trapped in a system that maintained social hierarchies and subjugated them.

In the wake of this unbearable social and monetary pressure, the founders of Neomatrix saw that true liberation could only be achieved by awakening the masses to the UEE’s lies. They began recruiting individuals from abused and marginalized communities across Stanton, Magnus, and other systems, offering them a chance to escape their oppressive realities. However, before granting refuge and ongoing financial support, new recruits were tasked with acts of sabotage against the UEE, such as planting bombs or damaging capital ships or installations from within their home planets or stations.

This strategy initiated a chain reaction, transforming Neomatrix and their members, known as “the Unplugged,” into a significant threat to UEE stability. The exact number of dormant moles currently infiltrated within UEE installations and ships remains unknown, which renders the organization extremely dangerous.

There are persistent rumors suggesting that a Neomatrix operative successfully infiltrated a UEE Navy fleet stationed near Vega II. Allegedly, this individual transmitted critical information regarding the fleet’s positions, numbers, and scout teams via a covert beacon directly to Vanduul space. While the UEE has not officially acknowledged the existence of Neomatrix, such actions have heightened concerns among military analysts about a potential underground movement capable of manipulating UEE operations from within. If true, this incident would serve as a stark reminder of the challenges facing the UEE in maintaining its grip on power as whispers of Neomatrix’s involvement continue to circulate within intelligence circles.

Neomatrix operates under a guiding principle: “Take the red pill, wake up! BE REAL, BE FREE.” The organization sees the UEE as a manipulative regime, subtly controlling and shaping its citizens through propaganda, economic constraints, and restrictive laws. Members believe that true freedom lies beyond the boundaries of UEE’s carefully crafted reality and that the only way to free oneself is to dismantle the established system.

Our objectives:

* Liberation of the Mind: Awakening others to the UEE’s lies and revealing the truth behind their supposed freedom. If they refuse to see, we seek to free their souls by any means necessary including death. The UEE enforces mandatory taxes on everything, perpetuating a system of social class enforcement that keeps the populace subjugated. Those who support the UEE whether mercenaries, military personnel, or civilians contribute to its enslaving schemes and are just as guilty as the regime itself.
* Rebellion Against Control: Exposing and counteracting UEE propaganda and restrictive systems, which includes strategic actions like infiltration and targeted strikes to hit the UEE where it hurts the most. We recognize that direct confrontation and subversive tactics are necessary to undermine their oppressive regime.
* Empowerment Through Truth: Helping individuals reclaim their autonomy and make informed decisions about their future, free from any higher control. When one of the unplugged is in need, we will always support and protect them, ensuring that every member feels valued and secure.

To free you must destroy: This rank serves directly under the Chosen One, executing critical and often dangerous missions necessary to destabilize UEE influence and free others from mental subjugation.
I am freedom: Elite agents who spearhead the most crucial and high-risk operations, fighting for liberation.
I am free: Experienced members who support and mentor others, preparing for more significant roles within the organization.
Welcome to the real world: Recruits in their initiation phase, learning the truths behind the UEE’s control and undergoing training.
