Welcome to the Night Stalkers where we use the black to our advantage. We’re a mostly laid back group until we get serious.

Nothing can hide from the night.

History

We began as a small group of competitive and casual gamers playing multiplayer battletech in the late 1990’s to 2001 under the unit name of (2nd) Night Stalkers ]NS[. Through the years we’ve played other games bearing the ]NS[ moniker such as Wolfenstein, World of Warcraft, Warhammer Online, Rift, and more recently MechWarrior Online. A few of us played through Wing Commander and Privateer franchises when younger and latched onto this game from when it was first announced. Throughout development we have gotten more and more excited over the potential that this game has. In addition to the excitement of playing this game, we hope to pick up new friends and be reunited with old ones while meandering through and exploring this universe. In some regard what Star Citizen represents is a new beginning and means of a reunion of old friends.

Manifesto

Our Mission:

Our main goal is to be the PMC of choice for jobs. We also strive to set up a base to call home and become financially self-sufficient through mining/refining, in-flight resupplying, shipping, bounty hunting, and business ownership accompanied with ample amounts of firepower.

Our play style:

As referenced on our history page, Night Stalkers originated from a very tight-knit group of people. We are focused on team oriented PVP endeavors rather than PVE or individual competitive play/gain but don’t let that stop you from joining, there is room for PVE and individual competitive play/gain. We work as a team, we overcome everyone else and accomplish our goals as a team.

We are looking for:

  • Willing players that want to specialize and grow to be experts or at least knowledgeable in a role of their choosing.
  • Players who prefer to PVP though PVE is still welcomed and encouraged.
  • Prefer players of ages of 18+ but not necessary. Maturity is required.
  • Those who can work in a loose military leadership structure.

Supported mission types (subject to change):

  • Mercantile
  • Bounty Hunting / Mercenary work
  • Exploration
  • Armed escort
  • Reconnaissance
  • Racing
  • Mining / Refining
  • Competent crew members for varying ship roles
  • Item modification

What We Offer:

  • A close-knit group of people and hopefully friends.
  • Fierce dedication.
  • A reputation of striving for excellence.
  • Flexible job assignments.*

*Once the game supports job type assignments (hereto-after called units) we will be subdividing down to specific roles as per the member’s preference. If the member has multiple ships and is willing to fulfill multiple roles then they will be part of multiple units. Units will have unit leads. More information about what is expected when part of a unit is listed on our charter page.

Members will be given access to private forums with silly posts, helpful information, and people who look after each other.

If you feel you fit or like what you read, apply for membership!

Charter

General conduct:

Refrain from trolling, flaming, stealing from group members/allies, and being a poor sport. Treat others with maturity and respect. However, the following are a list of offenses that should generally be avoided. An attempt was made to list them in descending order of severity but final judgement in these matters is left to the discretion of the Night Stalkers leadership.

Severe

  • Do not harass, grief, or (if allowed by the game mechanic) steal from other members. This includes situations where another member has done it to you. All matters of this nature will be handled by the leadership.
  • Do not provide aid or intel to enemies. This extends to the enemies of our allies as well.
  • Do not willfully disobey a direct order from your group leader or officer. Success is often measured by a unit’s ability to faithfully execute orders even if the reasoning behind such an order is not understood. (Discussion of tactics/orders is encouraged AFTER operations cease)
  • Serial incompetence within leadership will not go unnoticed or un-addressed.
  • Do not willfully misrepresent yourself to Night Stalkers or its allies in general.
  • Do not shoot at other members or allies with malicious intent.
  • Do not engage in activity that endangers Night Stalkers or allies.

Moderate

  • Do not harass or hinder groups while they are engaged in operations. This includes but is not limited to horse play, idle chatter, or excessive emotional retardation during official operations.
  • Refrain from public discourse in chat channels during operations unless allowed by your group leader or officers.
  • Do not engage in chasing or harassing maneuvers on “targets of opportunity” unless ordered or allowed by group leader or officers.
  • Refrain from posting Night Stalker internal material or information from private areas of the forums to public access areas. Any information wished to be in the public domain will be distributed/posted by officers.

Minor

  • Try to refrain from boasting, bragging, or other forms of show boating in operations comms, chats, or forums. Allow your ability to speak for itself.
  • Always try to utilize voice communications with other members or allies even while not on official operations.
  • Refrain from filing petitions or otherwise reporting other members through official channels. Whenever possible always to resolve disputes through the Night Stalkers leadership.
  • Refrain from posting non-relevant replies on forum threads or boards reserved for official unit operations. Limit such material to the general discussion areas.
  • Refrain from sending/posting group-wide or ally-wide in-game emails or communiques. This action should be reserved for official leadership communications.

Operational Etiquette

Comms

Clear and concise communications while in combat is crucial. General conversation should be restricted to times of non-combat or non-combat channels (general/lobby chat). During operations communications should be limited to Night Stalkers comm channels and the following operational protocol should be observed:

  • Officer communications take priority; officers then unit leaders in that order of priority. This will expand as we and the game grow.
  • Operational silence should be maintained as an order of practice, however general casual communication can and often does occur. When someone calls for clear comms (“Check! Check!” “Check comms!” “Clear comms!” etc.) operational silence is to be reiterated and enforced.
  • Though useful, voice activation of mics should be discouraged in order to avoid flooding the channel with ambient sounds at your location or unintended broadcasts such as heat of the moment exclamations.
  • Avoid entering specific combat/operations channels unless asked to do so by your unit leader or officers. Remain in the Night Stalkers lobby until such time. Non-disruptive hanging out is permitted and encouraged.

Dispute resolution

In the event two or more members of Night Stalkers have an irreconcilable issue with one another or officers have good reason to believe this to be the case the matter will be handled through mediation by the Night Stalkers leadership. They will handle the matter impartially as possible and their resolution of the matter will be final.

The unit creators(Founding Members) reserve the right to change the charter at any time to address in game changes or any newly arising issues.
