Our mission

At the heart of Sable is a love for discovery. Since the beginning in 2939, our mission has been to explore bold new horizons, and to help others on their way. Sable privately funds and executes a wide variety of research expeditions, and offers security services for independent explorers looking to leave their mark on the galaxy.

Public duty

Sable is a research initiative committed to the people, and to the public domain. Discoveries of significant scientific value will be released to the public for unrestricted sharing and dissemination. Independent explorers escorted by Sable Security will retain full autonomy and ownership of their discoveries, and may use recovered data as they see fit.

Intuitive and flexible careers

Sable is a research initiative encompassing a wide variety of careers, such as Cartography, Expeditionary Security, and Information Brokerage. Employees may pursue scientific endeavors individually, or as a crew member on a dedicated Sable research vessel. Whether you’re an explorer, tinkerer, or adventurous merchant, we value your expertise. Our employees work with very few restrictions and are given total autonomy in their operations, so long as they abide by the law and meet the demands of their clientele. Exciting new careers present themselves often, and members are encouraged to pursue scientific intrigues at will.

Joining Sable

Simply submit an application! Because of the decentralized nature of a research initiative, positions within the company are often in flux, with roles appearing and disappearing to suit our current operations. Applicants can specify their preferred working conditions, personal skills, or request an assignment. All prospects will be asked a few short questions by a Sable employee before being accepted; this is a good time to inquire about available jobs, and how to pursue them.
