In the bustling and often chaotic expanse of the Star Citizen Universe, the Space CowboyZ have earned a reputation as one of the most versatile and independent freelancing organizations. Formed by a group of pilots disillusioned by both corporate control and the rigid laws of the UEE (United Empire of Earth), the Space CowboyZ are known for their pragmatic approach to survival in the ‘Verse. They are neither outlaws nor loyalists but choose to walk the fine line between legality and freedom, offering their skills to the highest bidder while maintaining a strong moral code.

Founding and Vision
The Space CowboyZ were founded in 2952 by a former UEE Navy pilot named TJ Pops “NinjaSparTN. After a mission went awry due to bureaucratic interference, costing him both his squadron and his faith in the system, TJ decided to leave behind the life of a soldier. He gathered a few other disillusioned ex-military and freelancers who shared his vision of creating a self-sufficient organization that could operate independently, free from the constraints of the government and corporate empires.

The CowboyZ were born from the simple idea of “freedom and flexibility.” Their motto, “not everybody gets a trophy,” represents their commitment to autonomy and precision in everything they do. They reject the idea of being tied to a single faction or loyalty, preferring to take jobs that align with their goals, regardless of the political consequences. This makes them highly adaptable and unpredictable, traits that have served them well in the volatile and ever-shifting landscape of the Star Citizen Universe.

Operations and Services
The Space CowboyZ offer a wide range of services, with freelancing being at the core of their operations. They work as mercenaries, bounty hunters, traders, and even explorers, taking on missions that range from high-stakes combat contracts to resource-gathering expeditions in uncharted territories. Their adaptability and willingness to work outside the law—when necessary—make them highly sought-after contractors for both corporate interests and underground factions.

Combat and Security: The CowboyZ are known for their expertise in ship-to-ship combat, often hired to escort traders or protect convoys in lawless systems like Pyro and Nyx. Their well-armed fleet, featuring a mix of Drake Cutlasses and Aegis Sabres, allows them to handle everything from minor skirmishes to full-scale fleet engagements. Their battle-hardened members, many of whom are former military, ensure that they are capable of taking on both organized criminal elements and pirate gangs.

Smuggling and Trade: When they’re not engaged in combat, the CowboyZ often work as smugglers, transporting illicit goods between planets and stations that lie beyond the reach of the UEE. With Pyro and Stanton systems being major hubs for black market activity, the CowboyZ have become adept at running blockades and evading law enforcement patrols. They balance this with legitimate trading, working with smaller colonies in desperate need of supplies, earning them both credits and the goodwill of frontier communities.

Exploration and Salvage: The Space CowboyZ also have a team dedicated to exploration and salvage, often hired by clients to chart unknown regions or recover valuable materials from derelict ships. Their flagship, The Dust Devil, a customized Carrack, is equipped for deep-space exploration and is a symbol of the CowboyZ’s ambition to push the boundaries of known space.

The CowboyZ Code
While the Space CowboyZ are freelancers, they follow a strict code that has kept their organization both respected and feared across the stars:

Freedom Above All: Each member is free to take or reject any job, but loyalty to the CowboyZ comes first.
Never Betray a Client: Once a deal is struck, they see it through—no matter the odds.
Honor Among Cowboys: Members are expected to share intel, resources, and support with their fellow CowboyZ. Betrayal within the crew is met with swift retribution.
Profit, But Never Without Principle: They may take on morally ambiguous jobs, but they refuse to work for slavers, warlords, or entities that prey on the weak.
Major Achievements
The Space CowboyZ have built a legend around several key operations that highlight their skill and versatility:

The Hurston Heist: In one of their most daring missions, the Space CowboyZ infiltrated a heavily guarded Hurston Dynamics research facility on Hurston. Under contract from a rival megacorp, they stole vital blueprints for a revolutionary mining laser, escaping undetected through the dense asteroid fields surrounding the planet. The mission elevated their reputation as elite operatives capable of pulling off high-stakes heists.

Pyro Reclamation: When a powerful pirate faction attempted to take control of key jump points in the Pyro system, the Space CowboyZ were contracted by an independent mining guild to protect their operations. The CowboyZ, using their fleet’s superior agility and guerrilla tactics, decimated the pirate fleet in a series of lightning strikes, securing safe passage for the miners and earning a hefty payout in the process.

Future Aspirations
As the universe becomes increasingly unstable with rising tensions between the UEE and independent systems, the Space CowboyZ see opportunity. Wyatt Graves has made it clear that he plans to expand their operations into the Nyx and Helios systems, exploring the untapped potential for trade, salvage, and bounty contracts. Additionally, they are preparing for the eventual fallout of the growing Xenothreat conflict, positioning themselves as neutral players who can provide mercenary services to whoever offers the best deal.

The ultimate goal of the Space CowboyZ is to establish their own autonomous network of bases across unregulated space, where they can operate without interference from either the UEE or criminal syndicates. For now, they continue to ride the thin line between law and lawlessness, ensuring their place as one of the most formidable freelance organizations in the ‘Verse.
