Tides of War / TOW

At the very end of the 20th century, when earth was counting its wars on a daily basis, three regular people – Robert, Shane and Isaac – were tired of these wars. These ordinary guys came together after hours to tackle this problem. More people with similar ideals were attracted to them. Their goal: No more wars.
They engineered a cunning plan to infiltrate the highest echelons that existed at the time. Over about 50 years they infiltrated the UN, NATO, OPEC and every important government department, religious group and NGO all over the world. When the time was right, a series of events occurred simultaneously. About 5000 people flipped the switch setting things in motion to try and stop all wars and improve equality among men. They succeeded. Not just the military wars ceased, but also the civilian ones. The original three were still alive to witness the change.

Once the stage was set, it was Roberts daughter, brought up on his ideals, that lead this world coup. Being autistic, Victoria was their secret weapon. Because computers could be hacked, her special ability came in handy. She lacked the social skills, but could out-compute everyone with her eidetic memory. Hacking her was impossible.

The group never had a name for security reasons. For historical reasons, writers wanted to get an official name for the group and for the operation. Robert, Shane and Isaac were thinking about a group name which held their initials. RSI. It didn’t sound well for this occasion. It’s just an abbreviation. And no anagram sounded as an appropriate acronym. Until Victoria noticed something the three never knew about each other. The three had Latin middle names. Tiberius, Octavius and Virgilius. These initials spelled TOV. Robert thought that his daughter also earned a place in history and that formed the initials TOVV. As Victoria wrote them down, the initials read as TOW. The TOW-club was responsible for peace. The name of the operation was a given with those initials: “Tides of War”.

For the first time in the history of our known civilization, peace was upon us. This was a new concept. Suddenly there were different goals. Acquiring wealth was not the main goal anymore. Space exploration was. We wanted to get beyond our solar system, beyond the reach of our star. In no time funds went into this branch and new companies arose from the industrial ashes. Robert and Shane both died in 2069 at the age of 89. Later that year Isaac met a young guy called Robert Shane. That must have been karma. Robert Shane was one of the brightest space engineers of his time at the age of 22. Isaac promised to help him. Together they started a funding organization named Robert Shane Isaac Foundation or RSI-foundation. With the funds the original three had gathered over the years and the crowd funding by a large group of people a new company was founded in 2075. The RSI foundation turned into a company called Roberts Space Industries.

TOW is a permanent presence in many organizations. We are still guarding the peace. We aim to maintain the peace, but we will use all means to keep it.
