Within the organisation, members are free to form into flights with their friends and team up with other flights to form squadrons. So you can fly with your mates!

Standing Orders, USEC.

Preface

It is a long standing tradition for military forces, wherever they are in the world, to form and maintain a collective set of orders pertaining to its unique operation. USEC is indeed no different, and as such, we have compiled our own set of orders that reflect our unique place in the verse.

Chapter One
Manifesto

Section one
Overview

1.1.1 The Universe Security Organisation is a relaxed organisation tailoring to cooperative freelancing. The organisation provides a place for current JSO members to organise themselves in star citizen, however the organisation is open to anyone.

Mission

1.2.1 Our missions:

• As an organisation:
  • Provide an organisation for members of JSO and USEC team up and work together.
  • Provide a relaxed, CO-OP environment for all of its members.
• As a business:
  • Provide the “verse” with moderately priced security escorts.
  • Thoroughly exploit any freelancer opportunities.
  • Advance the goals of the members and stakeholders of Universe Security.

1.2.2 We also provide a Team Speak 3 server, the details of which are provided to members.

Chapter Two
Members

Section one
Rules

2.1.1 The following is the list of rules which all members agree to abide by:

1. Treat others in a manner in which you would like to be treated.
2. Do not subvert the organisation, or its leadership.
3. Do not commit any prejudice, such as racism or sexism.
4. Always attempt to assist another USEC members.
5. Do not bring USECs’ name into disrepute
6. Do not cheat, or exploit game bugs
7. Respect the officials of the organisation

Additionally, Officials must follow these rules:
1. Do not use USEC’s funds for personal use;
2. Do not treat the membership poorly;
3. Never abuse administrator privileges;
4. Always place the organisation first.

Section two
Discipline and resolving disputes

2.2.1 The following charges may be laid against a member:

• Failure to comply with the standing orders. This includes a number of subcharges
  • Mutiny
  • Poor conduct
  • Disgraceful conduct
• Conduct unbecoming of an official
• Breach of confidentiality

2.2.2 Any member who has a dispute or charge may raise it with their squadron leader. The squadron leader is given the authority to make a ruling on that dispute. However, if they find it too serious or the member raising the charge requests it, it may be raised to command.

2.2.3 The above charges are liable to the sentence of:

• Reduction of rank
• Discharge
• Dishonourable Discharge.

Chapter Three
Structure

Section one Overview 3.1.1 USEC is composed of 3 groups:

• Command (CMD), which deals with the administration of the organisation and is in charge of the organisation.
• Operations (OPS), provide space superiority, transport, logistics and commerce.
• Marines (MAR), provides teams focusing on delivering boarding teams and special operation space craft to carry out that mission, such as drop ships, boarding craft and fighters to provide escort.

Chain of command

3.2.1 Command is a ‘paper’ group that coordinates the running of the entire organisation. The commander of USEC resides in this group and holds the rank of Commodore. Within the group is all the staff billets need for running the organisation as dictated by the commander. As Command group is a paper organisation, all members filling billets – including the CDR will be members of OPS or MAR.

3.2.2 Operations and Marines are structured in the same manner but complete different tasks. Within each group are squadrons, comprised of flights. In charge of each of these groups is a Commodore. Membership of the Marines group is at the discretion of the Marine Commodore.

3.2.3 Members with a group can form themselves into flights (FLT) at their own discretion, however there must be a minimum of 2 members within the flight. The leader of the flight will then be promoted to flight leader. A flight can have no more than 10 members.

3.2.4 Two large flights may band together to form squadrons (SQN), elevating the senior flight leader to squadron leader. Squadrons may only be stood up with the permission of the respective group Commodore, and there is no limit to the size of squadrons. The subordinate flight commanders will continue to have command responsibility for their flight members.

Chapter Four
Ranks

Section one
Overview
4.1.1 Ranks show the members seniority within the organisation.

4.1.2 Promotions are awarded for time in the organisation and for taking on extra responsibilities.

Section two
Ranks

4.2.1 In ascending order:

• Cadet.
  • Rank given on joining.
  • Not considered a full member of the organisation.
• Member.
  • Been a cadet for 2 weeks.
  • Now a full member of the organisation.
• Senior Member.
  • Must have been in the org for 6 months.
  • Have good standing within the organisation.
• Flight Leader.
  • Elected as flight leader by their peers within the flight.
  • Must have been in the org for 6 months.
• Squadron Leader.
  • Elected as squadron leader by peers within the squadron.
  • Authorised to stand up a squadron or to lead an established squadron.
  • Must have been a Flight Leader.
• Commodore.
  • Selected to run a group.
  • Must be of exceptional standing.
  • Must have been in the org for 12 months.

4.2.2 The ranks above and including flight leaders are officials and bear the responsibility of managing the members below them to the best of their ability, for the good of the organisation and the members within.
