Vanguard Initiative: Rules
To maintain professionalism, fairness, and respect both within the organization and toward other players in the Star Citizen universe, the Vanguard Initiative abides by the following set of public rules. These rules apply to all Vanguard members when interacting with non-org players, allied organizations, and the broader community.

1. Respect All Players
No Toxic Behavior: Harassment, trolling, or toxic behavior toward any player, whether in-game or in public forums, is strictly forbidden. The Vanguard Initiative upholds a respectful and honorable presence in the community.
Maintain Professionalism: In all interactions, including during combat, members are expected to act with professionalism. Avoid derogatory language or behavior that would tarnish the org’s reputation.
2. No Griefing or Piracy
No Griefing: The Vanguard Initiative does not condone griefing, such as repeatedly attacking the same player or ruining another player’s gameplay experience for no reason. All engagements must have a legitimate tactical or strategic purpose.
No Piracy: Vanguard Initiative members are prohibited from engaging in piracy against neutral or allied players. Attacks on cargo haulers, traders, and neutral civilians are forbidden unless they are KOS or otherwise declared hostile by the org.
3. Engage in Fair Combat
No Exploits or Cheating: The use of game exploits, cheats, or hacks to gain an unfair advantage is strictly forbidden. All combat engagements must be fair and within the spirit of the game.
Honor Duels and PvP: Respect players who engage in honorable duels or fair PvP combat. If a player wishes to duel or engage in PvP, do so with honor and fairness.
4. Alliance and Diplomacy
Respect Allied Organizations: Members are expected to respect the allies of the Vanguard Initiative. Hostile actions, including unprovoked attacks, trash-talking, or trolling, against allied organizations are strictly forbidden.
Diplomatic Courtesy: In diplomatic situations or negotiations with other organizations, members must conduct themselves with courtesy and professionalism. Only authorized members are allowed to speak on behalf of the org in diplomatic discussions.
5. Non-Aggression Policy
Neutral Players: Vanguard members are prohibited from attacking neutral players unless they pose a direct threat to the org or violate our space. Always confirm hostility before engaging.
Avoiding Unnecessary Conflict: Avoid escalating conflicts with non-hostile players. Vanguard Initiative operates with a focus on strategic engagements, not wanton destruction.
6. Public Streaming and Representation
Streaming Etiquette: Members who stream or appear on streams must represent the Vanguard Initiative positively. No disruptive behavior, trolling, or inappropriate conduct should be displayed while streaming.
Public Forums and Chat: When interacting in public forums (such as Spectrum, Reddit, or Discord), members must be respectful and avoid engaging in flame wars or toxic discussions. Uphold the org’s image as a disciplined and mature entity.
7. Trade and Commerce
Fair Trading: Members are expected to trade fairly with other players. Scamming or fraudulent behavior in trade deals is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate disciplinary action.
Respect Contracts: When entering into contracts with other organizations or players, honor all agreements and provide the services or goods as promised. Breaking contracts damages the org’s reputation and will not be tolerated.
8. Conflict Resolution
Peaceful Solutions First: When encountering disputes with other players or organizations, Vanguard members are encouraged to seek peaceful and diplomatic resolutions first. Violence should only be a last resort.
Report Grievances: If members encounter toxic behavior or unresolved conflict, they should report it to the org leadership rather than retaliating. The leadership will handle disputes professionally.
These rules ensure that Vanguard Initiative maintains its integrity and positive standing within the Star Citizen community. Members who violate these public rules will face disciplinary action, up to and including removal from the org.
